Next Session Homework:

By next Thurs, Nov. 20 at 10pm, please e-mail your essays for ONE college to your UPREP mentor (for example, if you choose to do UW's, you will need to write all four essays). Mentors will review and provide feedback at our next session.

WHO:

Eighteen (18) high-potential EHS Juniors and Seniors, who are planning to attend a four-year college or university immediately after high school, will be selected for this program.

WHAT:

The EHS University Prep Program provides FREE, pre-college counseling to students. Each student is matched up with a "College Coach," an Evergreen alum currently attending or graduated from college, who will provide mentoring, assist you in the application process and be available to answer all your questions.

The program is organized into a series of bi-weekly workshops led by College Coaches covering a variety of topics like writing essays, applying for financial aid and scholarships, and choosing the best college for you. These workshops will utilize games and icebreakers, question-and-answer sessions with successful EHS alums and college admission officers, and even field trips to local universities!

New This Year!! Two (2) $500 college scholarships will be awarded exclusively to U-PREP participants. Only those who attend every session are eligible to apply.

Meets every other Saturday, from October 2008 to January 2009

  • Sat, Nov. 8 Essays
  • Sat, Nov. 22 Peer review for application and essays
  • Sat, Dec. 13 Financial Aid / Scholarships
  • Sat, Jan. 10 Wrap-Up and Celebrate
